to the FC Arlington website. FC is based in Arlington, Virginia, and
plays in the National Capital
Soccer League (NCSL). FC is a U17 team playing in Division 2 for the coming fall 2009 season.

FC was formed by Arlington Travel Soccer Club (ATSC) 6 years ago.
Our coach, new for the fall 09 season, is Luis Gendive.
The parents when the team was founded established the team philosophy reflected in our current mission statement ... essentially, that our goals were to provide an environment where the boys could learn soccer, have some fun, and hopefully enjoy some success along the way. We took a moderate approach to time commitments and costs ... offering a quality soccer experience for less (time and money).
We've also done our best to accommodate other commitments and interests that our players might have ... family, church, school, band, other sports.
We have boys who play football, basketball, baseball, run track and play in the band.
When boys have chosen to leave the team, we've pursued good players who are also good kids from supportive families to take their place.
This approach has proven to be successful.
The boys have improved considerably and we have very good team and family chemistry. Over the years the team has improved from Division 5 to Division 1, and is currently in Division 2.
In addition, a number of our players are participating in the highly competitive Super-Y and Olympic Development Programs.
Our rise into upper division soccer provides us with opportunities to participate in showcase tournaments.
We've accomplished this while letting everyone play a reasonable amount in each game.
The primary reason for our success is our coaching starting with our former Coach Farzad and continuing with our current Coach Louis, who have very capably led us on this journey ...
deferring to the parents with respect to our team philosophy and making it all work with a very skillful and perceptive manner.
We try to strike the right balance knowing when to push and when not to.
Many of our boys might not be playing soccer, much less upper division soccer, if not for this approach.
Our players and their families enjoy being part of the team and we all look forward to continuing to learn soccer, have fun and enjoy some success along the way.
